A new home under a shady oak tree

In May of 2012 my husband and I bought our first home. Prior to this home we had been renting since March 2007. We have ventured in the blogging market separately before but decided to chronicle our adventures in renovating our new home. In Shady Oak's 30+ years of existence there has only been one owner prior to us. It was a well loved home but rather out-dated. We purchased the home as an estate sale, the previous owner passed away in November, so the home needed a lot of cleaning upon moving in. I hope you stick it out with us as we tackle on home ownership with a toddler!
